1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using SignupSlots, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

If you're using SignupSlots on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Account Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must not share your account credentials with others
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• Notify us immediately at support@signupslots.app if you suspect unauthorized access
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for illegal purposes
• Spam, harass, or abuse other users or participants
• Collect participant data for purposes beyond the stated event
• Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the service
• Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliations
• Violate intellectual property rights
• Circumvent rate limits or security measures
• Use the service to distribute malware or phishing content
• Resell or sublicense the service without written permission

4. User Content

• Organizers retain ownership of their event content
• Participants retain ownership of their submitted information
• SignupSlots does not claim ownership of user content
• By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to store and display it as needed to provide the service
• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you upload
• We may remove content that violates these terms without notice

5. Organizer Responsibilities for Participant Data

• Organizers are responsible for informing their participants how data will be used
• Organizers must not misuse participant contact information (no spam, no selling, no unauthorized marketing)
• Organizers agree to comply with all applicable privacy laws in their jurisdiction
• SignupSlots acts as a data processor on the organizer's behalf
• The organizer is the data controller for their event's signup data

6. Free and Paid Plans

• SignupSlots offers free and paid plans
• Paid plan features are listed on the pricing page and may change with reasonable notice
• Paid plans can be cancelled at any time via account settings
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support@signupslots.app

7. Service Availability

• We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee 100% availability
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Scheduled maintenance may temporarily affect service availability
• We are not liable for service interruptions caused by third parties (hosting, email delivery, etc.)

8. AI-Generated Content

• The AI scan feature uses Google Gemini to read handwritten sign-up sheets
• Results are not guaranteed to be accurate — organizers should review scanned content before publishing
• We are not responsible for errors in AI-generated content
• Organizers remain responsible for final data accuracy

9. Communications

• Confirmation and reminder emails are core to the service and cannot be disabled
• Marketing emails can be opted out via notification preferences in account settings
• Organizers sending messages through SignupSlots must comply with anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, CASL, etc.)

When SMS notifications are enabled for an event, participants who provide a phone number during signup may receive text message confirmations, reminders, and organizer updates. Participants can opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message. Standard messaging rates may apply.

10. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• We may terminate the service entirely with reasonable notice
• Users can delete their accounts at any time via account settings
• Upon termination, user data is deleted per the Privacy Policy retention schedule

11. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by the user in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so these may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SignupSlots and its team from claims, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, including any misuse of participant data.

13. Disputes

• These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah
• Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Utah
• Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@signupslots.app to attempt informal resolution

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of SignupSlots after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you may delete your account.
